Abstract— A Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a collection of
wireless sensor nodes forming a temporary network without
the aid of any established infrastructure or centralized
administration. In such an environment, due to the limited
range of each node’s wireless transmissions, it may be
necessary for one sensor node to ask for the aid of other sensor
nodes in forwarding a packet to its destination, usually the
base station. One important issue when designing wireless
sensor network is the routing protocol that makes the best use
of the severely limited resource presented by WSN, especially
the energy limitation. Another important factor is providing as
much security to the application as possible. In this project, an
energy efficient secure node disjoint multipath routing
protocol for wireless sensor networks is proposed. Here, the
data packets are transmitted in a secure manner by using the
digital signature crypto system. Multipath routing protocols
enhance the lifetime of the wireless sensor networks by
distributing traffic among multiple paths instead of a single
optimal path. The protocol guarantees loop freedom and
disjointness of alternate path. We have compared the
performance of this protocol with an ad hoc on-demand
multipath distance vector routing protocol. To evaluate
performance of proposed method, we have used parameters
packet delivery ratio, energy consumption, routing overhead
and throughput compare to the ad hoc on-demand multipath
distance vector routing .

در این مقاله در زمینه روشهای ترمیم اتصال خراب شده در شبکه های حسگر بیسیم (Wireless Sensor Network) بحث شده است. یکی از مشکلاتی که در شبکه های سنسور (WSN) وجود دارد تقسیم شدن گره های شبکه به چند قسمت در اثر بروز خرابی است. برای کارکردن درست شبکه، قسمت های جداشده شبکه باید دوباره به یکدیگر پیوند داده شوند و اتصالات ترمیم شود. در این مقاله روشی برای حل این مشکل ارائه شده است که میتواند به شکل بهینه ای و با تعداد کمی از گره های رله (Relay Node) و در نظر گرفتن کوتاهترین مسیر بین گره ها مشکل را حل کند.

این مقاله در سال 2015 در ژورنال Ad Hoc Networks که توسط انتشارات الزویر (Elsevier) ایندکس میشود به چاپ رسیده است.

Wireless sensor network (WSN) applications, especially those serving in inhospitable environments such as battlefield reconnaissance, are susceptible to large-scale damage which usually causes simultaneous failure of multiple collocated sensors and gets the network divided into disjoint partitions. In order to prevent the WSN from being inoperative, restoring the overall network connectivity is crucial. Furthermore, it may be desirable to make the repaired network topology resilient to future single node failures caused by aftermath. In this paper, we present an effective strategy for achieving such recovery goal by establishing a bi-connected inter-partition topology while minimizing the maximum path length between pairs for partitions and deploying the least count of relay nodes (RNs). Finding the optimal number and position of RNs is NP-hard and we thus pursue heuristics. The proposed Connectivity Restoration with Assured Fault Tolerance (CRAFT) algorithm strives to form the largest inner simple cycle or backbone polygon (BP) around the center of the damaged area where no partition lies inside. RNs are then deployed to connect each outer partition to the BP through two non-overlapping paths. We analyze the properties of CRAFT mathematically and validate its performance through extensive simulation experiments. The validation results show that CRAFT yields highly connected topologies with short inter-partition paths while employing fewer RNs than competing schemes.

Abstract
Development in the technology of sensor such as Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS), wireless communications, embedded
systems, distributed processing and wireless sensor applications have contributed a large transformation in Wireless Sensor Network
(WSN) recently. It assists and improves work performance both in the field of industry and our daily life. Wireless Sensor Network has
been widely used in many areas especially for surveillance and monitoring in agriculture and habitat monitoring. Environment monitoring
has become an important field of control and protection, providing real-time system and control communication with the physical world.
An intelligent and smart Wireless Sensor Network system can gather and process a large amount of data from the beginning of the
monitoring and manage air quality, the conditions of traffic, to weather situations. In this paper, we discuss and review wireless sensor
network applications for environmental monitoring. In order to implement a good monitoring system, there are several requirements to be
followed. From the studies, it has been proved to be an alternative way to replace the conventional method that uses men force to monitor
the environment. It is also proven that these approaches can improve the system performance, provide a convenient and efficient method
and can also fulfill functional requirements.

ABSTRACT
Sensor networks are currently an active research area mainly due to the potential of their applications. In
this paper we investigate the use of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) for air pollution monitoring in
Mauritius. With the fast growing industrial activities on the island, the problem of air pollution is
becoming a major concern for the health of the population. We proposed an innovative system named
Wireless Sensor Network Air Pollution Monitoring System (WAPMS) to monitor air pollution in
Mauritius through the use of wireless sensors deployed in huge numbers around the island. The proposed
system makes use of an Air Quality Index (AQI) which is presently not available in Mauritius. In order to
improve the efficiency of WAPMS, we have designed and implemented a new data aggregation algorithm
named Recursive Converging Quartiles (RCQ). The algorithm is used to merge data to eliminate
duplicates, filter out invalid readings and summarise them into a simpler form which significantly reduce
the amount of data to be transmitted to the sink and thus saving energy. For better power management we
used a hierarchical routing protocol in WAPMS and caused the motes to sleep during idle time.
